A couple of weekday internationals this week, with all the teams taking part in Euro 2008 looking to make the final tweaks and give the fringe players a run out before the tournament starts.
Free Betting tip:Â I had a premonition that Rooney would score today, so that must mean he won’t!!! If the ‘to score’ market on Betfair ever un-suspends then back Rooney to get a goal tonight against the USA.Â
UPDATE: Sorry I confused Wayne Rooney for John Terry in my premonition, easy mistake to make!!! I knew that John Terry to score the first goal at odds of 22-1 was good value!!Â

Here’s a post for all England fans who will be switching their TV off for two weeks, or will have to resort to watching Big Brother on Channel 4 (although some people have said that watching BB is enough to make any person switch off their TV for good). Most readers might be able to remember Euro ‘96 (you know the year where England actually played football) and the video clip below is a classic that all England fans will always remember. Picture the scene, Wembley stadium, Scotland have just missed a penalty, England race up to the other end of the pitch and Gazza does some magic and scores a cracking goal. Sounds good doesn’t it? I promise you I’m not making it up, see the clip below, Scotland fans might want to look away!!!

Remember there might not be any England, but we can still try to make some money from some betting tips at least!!! So keep a lookout for the next post where I’ll tip 4 potential winners for Euro 2008(probably losers though, but you never know!!).

So Wednesday’s most anticipated event is finally here…..no not the Apprentice on BBC 1 or the RHS Chelsea Flower show, but the big match between Manchester United and Chelsea (although I hear one manager will be fired.. and it’s not Alex Ferguson, hint hint).
Who’s going to win?  The signs are pointing to Chelsea, with the final being in Russia it would seem fitting for Chelsea and Abramovich to win the trophy in his home country.  Also Chelsea will have the extra incentive to win after missing out on the Premiership to United and have recently got the better of them in the match at Stamford Bridge.  Taking these points into consideration, it might just be Chelsea’s year and with odds of 3.25 on Betfair to win over 90 minutes it seems like a good value bet.
Betting tip:  Ignoring everything I’ve said above (as usual), I’m going to tip Paul Scholes to be shown a yellow card during the 90 minutes at odds of 3.3 on Betfair. We already know he is almost certain to start in midfield and just one of Paul Scholes’ special sliding tackles can bring some profit.Â
UPDATE: Well that was easy!! (I mean the betting tip and not the extra time and penalties part). After 20 minutes Paul Scholes picked up his booking and that meant us picking up winnings, if only all betting was as easy as that!! Congratulations to Manchester United, it’s good to see commited players like Scholes and Giggs pick up their medals, I don’t think many football fans will disagree that loyal players like them fully deserve their glory.

Well it may not be alot of people’s ’prefered’ final, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try and make some money out of it!! I’ve already tipped Niko Kranjcar to be the star man at Euro 2008 and I’m hoping he’ll show that star quality in the FA Cup Final tomorrow.Â
Need to kill some time before the next big football match? How about playing some online texas holdem at one of the recommended poker rooms at Launchpoker.com! Don’t wait, WIN!
Betting tip: He’s already scored a goal at Wembley last year for Croatia and here’s hoping he does the same for the final. Back Kranjcar to be first goal scorer and to score at anytime, juicy odds of 10.5 and 4.5 respectively on Betfair.
If you want your free £25 bet on the Cup Final, then click on >>here<< or click the Betfair banner on the right, sign up and fund your account. It’s easy!!! You can’t lose.
UPDATE: Well Cardiff gave it a good go and if they had scored the first goal, then it might of been a whole different game. But Pompey deserved the win in the end. No winning bet here though, one nice bit of back heal skill from Kranjcar in the match though, lets hope he is saving it all for Euro 2008.

Do England fans remember Niko Kranjcar? No?…. You know he’s the guy who played for Croatia against England last November? No?….Oh you must remember that he was the one who scored the opening goal in the match that knocked England out of the Euro 2008 tournament from 40 yards…? Still don’t remember? Yeah me either, along with Scott Carson  I’ve almost wiped that night out my memory too!!
Whenever I’ve watched Kranjcar play, he’s always looked very skillful on the ball and a quality player (check out some of the videos of him, some very very nice goals). The Portsmouth player has been on impressive form this season helping Pompey to get to the FA Cup final and he’s also been linked with a lucrative move to Arsenal.
Croatian manager Billic will be looking towards the midfield play-maker already with 39 caps to create the openings for Croatia during the tournament and also add to his 6 international goals from midfield.. Â
I could of taken the easy option and tipped a midfield player like Chrsitiano Ronaldo (who?) to shine at Euro 2008, but Kranjcar has the ability to make a real impact, already a key player at 23 years of age in the Croatian midfield, he is definitely a player to watch out for in June.
I mean any player that scores against England and out classes an English midfield can’t be that bad can they? (actually don’t answer that question)
