Easter Premiership fixtures and free betting tips- 22nd March
A full set of Premiership fixtures this week, most people will be interested in Sunday’s set of fixtures, more about that in another post. Newcastle managed to fight back on Monday and get a draw against Birmingham City, could that prove to be the turning point for them?  With Fulham becoming more organised under Hodgson and getting a result last weekend, it’s a hard to call result, another draw could be on the cards.
Unfortunately for Portsmouth and luckily for Tottenham, Jermain Defoe is ineligible to make his return to White Hart Lane. Otherwise I would be recommend betting on Defoe to be first goal scorer and to score at anytime. Sol Campbell looks to be also struggling with injury, I’m sure the Spurs fans will give him a great welcome as usual if he plays. Spurs don’t have much to play for and Pompey have a great away record, but I still think Tottenham can just edge it and win, expect overs!!
You would expect Middlesbrough to beat Derby comfortably, but what Boro team will play…the team that were lacklustre against Cardiff in the FA Cup? OR the resilient side that so nearly won against Arsenal? Derby can take great heart after the performance against Manchester United, but I don’t see them getting points away from home.
Reading v Birmingham- this is the game I will be looking at betting on, Reading played well against Liverpool last week and you can always expect goals to be conceded and scored by them. Birmingham have only kept one clean sheet away from home this season. Free betting tips: bet on Over 2.5 Goals (2.24 odds on Betfair) and back Reading to win (2.14 on Betfair).
UPDATE: WINNER Once again Reading have done their part and made this into a winning bet. A total of three goals in the game and a special thanks to Bikey who got the winner for Reading, which made this bet a ride in the park.
Newcastle have at last got their first win under Kevin Keegan, the Owen and Viduka partnership will play an important part in their fight for points. It’s a shame that the Spurs game only brought two goals (instead of overs), I think if either team had scored earlier than 80 minutes then the goals would have flown in. But great credit to Pompey who had a depleted team, for playing their part in a great match. The big shock on Saturday has to be Sunderland beating Aston Villa away from home, the relegation fight is getting just as exciting as the title race.
This weekend fixtures:
Aston Villa v Sunderland
Blackburn v Wigan
Bolton v Man City
Everton v West Ham
Middlesbrough v Derby
Newcastle v Fulham
Reading v Birmingham
Tottenham v Portsmouth
Chelsea v Arsenal
Man Utd v Liverpool
